MEET MIA LAREN

Born and raised in Maryland and now settled in San Diego, Mia Laren is a creative director, movement educator, and wellness advocate whose work bridges fashion, movement, and community impact. With over two decades of experience in dance, fitness, and creative programming, her work is grounded in empowerment, prevention, and body confidence through intentional movement. She is the founder of Curvora, a hip-focused movement method designed to build strength, mobility, emotional release, and confidence through intentional, rhythm-based movement. Curvora’s mission is to reconnect individuals to their bodies by strengthening the hips as the foundation of movement, stability, and self-expression.

Mia holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance, an Associate’s degree in Dance, and a Master’s degree in Public Health. Her public health background informs her work in prevention-based wellness and community education. She has been involved in advocacy and youth programs, including Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) youth dance initiatives, as well as community movement programs focused on mentorship, healthy outlets, and confidence-building for young people. Professionally, Mia has worked as a studio owner, instructor, and program developer across dance and wellness spaces, creating supportive environments that encourage self-trust, strength, and creative expression. Her work consistently centers on inclusivity, intentional design, and meaningful connection. Through her creative leadership, Mia continues to develop platforms that extend beyond the runway, using fashion and movement as tools for storytelling, empowerment, and impact.
